More on A Dialogue Dream Poem...

It is the age of Information.  The Age of Confusion.  The Age of Apparent Order and Widespread Chaos. Dreams come to every member of the Human Race every night.  Dreams that speak their own language, follow their own logic, and either gently drift away with the dawn, or stubbornly stay put just on the other side of reality without a peep.  What happens when these dreams crawl out of the corners of the night and reach out to the waking world to speak?   This puppet show is a manifestation of Dialogues and Dreams and Poems, all of which are related to each other, and which have something urgent to tell the waking world, even if they're not sure what it is, or how to say it.  Will their stories be heard? Will they break the barriers of logic and Sense?  Will they be Bothered with at all?  or will they simply fade back into the Dream world from which they came?  Show will be in the language of Dreams with live music accompaniment and a Dream Salesman to Boot.

street performance workshop

Puppetry, Mask & Street Performance Workshop

Sunday, July 22

1-5 PM
Fairview Park

What does it mean to transform a park into a puppet theater stage?  Why bother presenting theater under the sun, out in the streets, putting it directly in front of the public at large, which also means at their mercy?  Puppetry, Mask, and street performance is ancient form of theater which has existed since before humans built theaters or invented ticket prices and income brackets.  It's inevitably a participatory theater, since traffic, conversations, wind, and bird whistles become collaborators in the creation of the experience.

The Possibilitarian Puppet Theater is offering a Free Crash Course Workshop on Sunday, July 22nd, from 1-5pm, at Fairview Park in Ohio City, Cleveland.  Participants will be thrown into the special blend of how's and why's that is a Possibilitarian street performance, which will then actually be performed in two parks: Fairview park on Thursday July 26th at 7pm, and in Coventry Village park on Sunday July 29th at 2pm.  Participation in one or both performances is a mandatory part of participation in the workshop, and promises to be the fun part.  Please register by July 20th for planning purposes by calling Daniel at 215-771-8287.  There is no cost for this workshop, it's FREE.

Beautiful Possibility Elixir Social
At the West Side Market

On Saturday, June 23, join SPACES's artist in resident Alison Pebworth and local farmers from City Rising Farm, Erie's Edge Farm, Gather 'Round Farm, Let It Bee Gardens, and the Possibilitarian Garden at the West Side Market for an all-day Elixir Social.

This June, Pebworth has been in town with her traveling cross-country art exhibition, Beautiful Possibility. Inspired by the 19th century American Traveling Show, Pebworth's hand-painted posters use the elaborate graphics of Wild West show posters to re-tell American history.

At stops across the country, Pebworth has been surveying people on their thoughts about "Americanitis," a curious 19th century nervous condition resulting from rapid modernization. While in Cleveland, Pebworth has partnered with urban farmers to make an array of special "Cleveland Elixirs" for Americanitis, which you can sample all day at the Market.
